Exactly. I hated that problem. I tried sending a link to my other account, and didn't get it. Tried to send it again, and saw the message about unsafe attachments. Have a Star!

thx for all you replies
however, when i try to send from another pc, the first thing that happens is that outlook launches
however on my problem pc/browser - nothing happens
i don't think it's a matter of security settings - it seems like a problem with the browser's functionality
Kaizer, you could verify that by installing Firefox, though I recently saw a thread that said it was full of security flaws. Try sending a page from it, or any other browser, and this will verify whether the problem is with IE.
If you think it's definitely something with the browser, you could also reset IE back to default security by going to Tools/Options/Security Tab, Custom Level button and click Reset. On the Advanced Tab, click Restore Defaults. See if that works for you.
I tried the security reset - no luck
i just tried a reinstall of ie6 (changed the requiredreg entry to 0, downloaded/installed) - no luck
but now, i also can't seem to type (for example) msn.com in address bar, hit enter and have the web page display as before
i have to do a "ctrl+enter" then it comes up
anyone know how to fix that?
ok - things are working again!!!
i did a search here on tek-tips for ie6 address bar and i found a thread which mentions a util called iefix
i downloaded it, ran it, rebooted and now
send link/send page works properly and i am able once again to type any address such as cnn.com, hit enter and it loads up
