Background:

The teachers that I support are having problems getting to an ASP ( All teachers are routed through one of three proxy servers with their IE browsers configured to automatically discover the proxy server.

Symptom:

Teachers are having problems getting to when they are using only ONE of the 3 proxy servers.

Question:

Is there any easy way for the teacher to find out on their computer which proxy server they are going through when they have problems?

I understand that in IE you can determine the ip address of your proxy server by going to the following:

Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN Settings

but since the browsers are configured with automatic detection, the above doesn't quite work.

Is there any other way to determine which proxy server a particular computer is using? I'm thinking of a utility like winipcfg but am prepared to do some coding if I can find out through CGI and environmental variables.

All help is appreciated.

Cheers.
