hi!

Any ideas what this message means "kccrsz: expanded controlfile section 11 from 447 to 825 records requested to grow by 365 record(s); added 27 block(s) of records" i got this from our alert log. I'm using oracle 8.05 in win2003.

thanks,

Rommel

Hi,
This is not an error.
growth of your controlfile is usually due to a growth in your database. Your control file has grown to keep track of the new data size or logs used.

Section 11 is for "ARCHIVED LOG" and it is affected by control_file_record_keep_time as they to keep trace of log for the time speficied.

The maximum size of control file is 20000 database blocks on HP, Solaris, Windows, Linux and 10000 blocks on AIX.
