Hi, there.
I have 5 internal hard drives as a scsi drive(c)-18gb and 4 IDE drives(200gb, 40gb,40gb,80gb w/promise ide controller).
But the computer(xp pro) recognize all these as a scsi dire.
Should show me as a IDE DRIVE.
Any1 knows what happen and how to fix this issues?
Many thx.

Have run across it twice with NT on specific HP machines. Seems that NT recognized the controller chip as SCSI. Something in how it was addressed by the hardware. There was no fix available so lived with it.

Yep, I've got a Gigabyte GA7-DX which recognizes an 80gb Seagate Barracuda as a SCSI drive under WinXP Pro with no real noticeable problems.

Interested to know why it does this though???

Its all in the way the os interprets the controller.
As long as the system is working, there is no need to worry about it.
