ICS on a domain?

I've got a DSL modem and I'm looking to use ICS on a Windows XP Pro box to allow my other 3 PC's to use the internet.

Everything I've seen says that you can't (or shouldn't) use ICS on a domain, but they don't say why. I've got a Win2K domain on my other 3 boxes. Why shouldn't I be able to connect these Win2K boxes to the XP box and have it run ICS?
I'll disable DHCP and DNS on my Win2K server before I setup ICS.

Do I have to go buy a DSL router or can this work without one?

Thanks,

I'm not 100% certain, but I think you have to use DHCP in order for this to work. The ip's can't be hard-coded, they have to be assigned by the server running ICS. Glen A. Johnson

Glen, thanks for your input, and yes, if I'm not mistaken, ICS needs to allocate IPs to the client computers in order for them to use ICS. What I meant was that I would disable the DHCP on my Win2K server to ensure that it's DHCP doesn't conflict with the IPs allocated by ICS as I've heard that can be a problem.

Thanks,
Vos
