Have a test server setup with w2003 srv SP2 - let it setup default DHCP scope.

Under DHCP leases there are icons for the leases, one of the icons shown is a PC with a pen, what does this mean? The other icons just show a PC with no pen.

On another server, where we have defined the scope, there is no such icon with the pen, they all just show PC icons with no pen.

I believe the Pen Icon is for DHCP reservations... though that wouldn't work with the situation you're describing. It doesn't happen to say Reservation under Lease Expiration, does it?

Nope - not resevervation, that is usually displayed in text to the right in the viewing pane, plus this particular lease is just a plain old lease. I have a reservation as well and the icon is just a PC, no pen.

Looks like I have to hand over my credit card details to view the answer, if I use the above link.

Do you get a commision? ;-)

Thanks basst! I've been looking for that answer for a year.
