ICA Webclient connection error with the Citrix Metaframe Server

Hi.
First I tried to connect from my own workstation an I allways get a popup with the message "Woud you open or save this file." (Name: launch.ica; Type: Citrix Ica Client, 929 Byte; from: WebinterfaceServer) If I try to store this file I can save it to disk. If i try to open I get a second messagebox: ("Will you really save this file?"
Name:*;Type:*;From:*) for text see up.

Now I tried it on another computer and it ended in a loop.
I was able to log on, but when I opened a session to a remote desktop or to an application it tried and tried.
The computer can't connect to the Server.

Can someone help me please ?

First question.

Have you a Citrix Client on your Workstation ?

If not then from your description I am assuming you are going to a web-Interface/NFUSE site.

The site should (although this can be switched off) test your machine for an installed instance of ICA client. It seems to be passing this. Soooooo.

Instead of saving the file, cos its no real good anyway, ticketing invalidates it after initial connection, open the file and see what happens.

I suspect that you may get the same as I don't think the addressing and ports are set up correctly.

Post undetailed firewall and IP info and we will help.

I have installed an ICA Client.
I did it manually the second time.
The firewall we have in Comp. is not effecting my session.
It is only for extern transfer and both the Server and the client are inside. Locally i have no firewall installed.
But what is the port on the serverside.
Where can i see on witch port the server is listening ?
And where can i find the "MetaFrame XP-Message Center" ?

The message center is the error messages from the web site.

In your instance the server should be listening on port 1494 and whatever port you specified for the XML service to be running on.

try telnet <ip of server>:1494 you should get back (ICA)(ICA)(ICA) etc, if you get that then it is your XML setup in the CMC right click on server and properties look in Metaframe Settings. If you are running IIS on that server then chances are it will be port 80, otherwise it may be something else. Can be changed in web interfaces admin page.

You was right with the ports.
ICA Port 1494
XML Port 80

The Ica port is not reachable. If I try to conect to the ICA port via telnet the answer is "connection to host lost"

XML is on port 80 but there is no IIS installed on the server (CitrixServer) not WebinterfaceServer.

OK we need to get that ICA connection first.

Is your workstation on the same subnet ?
Can you ping the Citrix server.

Lets get the Programme Neighbourhood working first and then worry about Webby stuff.

Create a Custom ICA connection to the server.

Try TCP/IP protocol first.
Then Try HTTP/HTTPS to <ipaddress> port 80

See how you get on

I have installed the citrix neighbourhoud agent now.
I have the simmilar problem. ("Connection to citrix metaframe-server is not possible. The citrix metaframe-server is not available, please try again later.")

I am not a fan of the Agent (yet).

If you load the full client you can play about with settings.

As a matter of interest can you run a session from the server itself, i.e. the console (just load program Neighbourhood and point a custome ica session to itself ?
