I've just set up my first Citrix system and am having varying degrees of success.

Metaframe XP FR3
On Windows 2003
Using an SMC Barricade (2 other units also)

I set up a virtual server and opened ports 80, 1604, 1494, and 3389. I understand that 3389 is for TS and it works like a champ.

If I publish a desktop on the server, I can see it and use it with no problem. If I publish an application, I can browse to the list but can't connect to the app. I also tried opening all ports from 1023 to 65534 to accommodate the "high port" range.

Any suggestions are most appreciated. CR

With help from Thread48-739854 I was able to use the ALTADDR command on the server to redirect ICA traffic to the public address. That by itself wasn't enough.

A little book work with Harwood's "Inside Citrix MetaFrame XP" (unabashed plug) provided the last missing piece. On the client I had to go into the firewall setting and check the "Use alternate address for firewall connection" hiding right there in plain view.

Things look good right now, it's time for a road test.
