I'm thinking there may be a bug in 3.1.2.

We set one up and it's needed to have the services stopped and started almost daily.

I tried calling Avaya, but of course they're trying to charge us to look at the problem.

I just opened a ticket with Avaya on my IA770 problem....turns out the whole switch is performing a reset system 4 at random intervals....

OK..there is a basic problem that I found out after installing 10 of these switches recently. When you start an install from scratch, you need to run a telnet command and then type: "unset crlf" and then open 192.11.13.6 instead of telnetting straight to 192.11.13.6

You will notice that when the options come up, the last option is to install Audix which by default sets the installation to "no". If you dont run this command, this screen whizzes pass very quickly.

Since I used this command, my Audix has installed properly. I just installed one now and it was all OK.

So I would have to reinstall this on the other boot partition again (6a)in the correct order ??? ,I placed a ticket with Avaya 2 days ago received a call 24 hours later and then have not heard back after leaving 2 messages for remote tech working trouble I actually logged into system and saw they were in there for 45 minutes and then logged off this was almost 12 hours later still no callback from
anyone ......

fyi I just adopted the system and did not install it:)

are any of your setups cm3.1.2 with G350 ??
what install version doc did you follow for the S8300 within a G350 setup ?? as the CM3.1 looks a little
different then CM3.0 install doc

Cheers:)

you can back up the translation via ftp and then do a re-install. Rebuild from CD and then follow the installation wizard. The restore the translation. Your firmwares must already be up to date which means you save about 30 mins of install time. No harm in doing it that way. Avaya Messaging team will fix the problem but they are slow to re-act.

MrJedi,

So if Messaging works when the system is up, your fix is for an install where messaging does not get installed, no?

Also what version of CM are you loading?

SJF

P.S. I've been going back and forth with an Avaya tier 3 tech. When I speak with him, it's apparent he has no idea what he's doing with CM. I asked how long he's been working on these systems.

His answer :

"A couple of months".

It took me 10 installs to figure this out. Not sure why but if you dont install the messaging from start, you get this problem. It might not be related but I have now installed three in the last 2 weeks and I used the unset crlf command and it all works.

If the 8300 is powered off without shutting the IA 770 down first, it sometimes corrupts the IA770 software.

There is a non-public patch for IA770 running on CM3.1.2.

Just an FYI.

BTW The reset sys 4 thing was a mis-read. The problem was the IA770 locking up...

Avaya tier 4 fixed database issues as programming was ok

Thank you Avaya tier 4

Cheers:)
