i want to create a time out

i want to run a function every 5 seconds, how do you create a timeout?

i found a tutorial, but it was a very complex time out it was about 500 lines of code, and it did a lot more then just run one function over and over.

you should use a cron tab to run a script at intervals (or a task on windows servers). Most servers allow cron jobs but some do not. As the tech support of your web host about setting up a cron job.
