First off, sorry for the length... I always try to be as detailed as possible.

I am setting up a four (4) station LAN and would like your opinions for "securing" the internet aspect of it. Here is the overall setup:

1- Windows 2000 Server SP3 Server
4- Windows 2000 Professional SP3 Workstations
They're connected via a D-Link 5 port switch.

I currently have the server installed with DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory configured (and working). I also have two (2) workstations installed and configured. They are all "talking" like they're supposed to.

The internet connection is connected via the Server (sharing is enabled) and the workstations can access the internet through that connection (IE has "connect through LAN" with "automatically detect proxy settings" checked on the workstations.)

In the past (pre-server days... lol), I have used (and I am fond of) Norton Internet Security for firewall and virus protection.

I am looking to (please tell me if I am on the right/wrong track here) firewall/antivirus protect the server and antivirus protect the workstations. I want to be able to "push" the updated virus definitions to the workstations from the server when a user logs on.

In my mind I only see a need to firewall the server since that's where the internet comes through and it would be redundant to install firewall software on the workstations. There is no web hosting or any other use for the internet other than "access." Is this a good way to approach this?

I have briefly reviewed Symantec's web site and it looks like their "Symatec Client Security" package may be what I am looking for, but I am not sure.

Please, please, please give any/all opinions...

tia!

UPDATE: I forgot to mention that this server will also run Microsoft Exchange 2000, so please take that into consideration...

Thanks.
