I need to reset the IP Office UCM password to default.

The password has been changed and the user has quit the company and i need to reset the Voicemail UCM to default. How can I reset the password ?

The administration password or a mailbox password?

Administration password - good luck as I can't remember if that is even possible

User password - go into manager and open a config and in the voicemail tab set the password (called code)

The administrator password. The group that administered it remotely changed the password and quit the company.

The procedure is tedious - but you can reset all of the system passwords to default via the RS-232 port on the back of the IP Office. You will need a laptop with a real serial port and HyperTerminal. There is a work note on the procedure at

I had to do this to default a used unit that I bought. Was able to use a Tripp-Lite USB-c to serial cable since my laptop does not have a true serial. Also used PuTTY since it is free rather than HyperTerminal.
