Hi, i needs some guidance

I have a win 2000 server with AD(server1), this is the server that i have my policies setup on and it autentifies my users logon request.

all my client are setup to dhcp, the dhcp server(server2) is on a other domain. the dhcp gives me the ip the wins and the dns and my gateway right!

so now my client receives the dns from the other domain ,that is good because its also my gateway ,but the policies are on MY server(server1).

so now, my client that have dhcp can browse the internet,
but the policies dont apply.
now if i force the dns of server1 on my clients the policies apply but no internet .

can i set up the dns on server1 to communicate with dns server2?

i hope someone can help me !!!!

How can users authenticate to Server1 AD, when you need dns for ad, which is on Server2? Need more info. Thanks.

Basicly, i have a windows 2000 server with AD, this server is the only server in my domain so all my client report to this server.

i can't have dhcp runnig because i am not on a vlan .
so i need to get my setings(dns, wins, gateway) from the dhcp on server2 .

server1, is my server it as AD,dns, and policy are pushed from this server it the only one on my domain.

server2, is the gateway,dns,wins.
i need this machine for the dhcp and gateway.

so my problem is that, when my client get the dhcp setting
they get the dns ,and gateway setings from server2.
dns *.*.*.45
gateway *.*.*.45

my policies dont applies because its on my server *.*.*.47

so i neet to have policies aplied from 47 and gateway ,dns applied from 45.

...2 servers are not on the same domain and the client need to have policies enforce and go on the internet.

so could i set up the dns in *.*.*.47 to go talk to dns in *.*.*.45 .

btw the trust between domain is there domain trust mine.

thanks for the help.

Silly question. Why not just move the policies? Maybe I'm being to simplistic. Good luck.
