Hi,in my Job I need the License of VB6 and I don't
know were to buy it.
It seems VB6 is too old like DOS and you can't find to buy
the License.

If you know were please answer this question.

Hi,

The VB licence is no longer available. You simply buy the VB.Net licence as it is backwards compatiable. I was advised to do this from my licence supplier. I paid £35 but I get an educational discount as I work in a college.

Cheers

Anyone know if there is anything stating the backward compatability? Can you just use the same product key?

Yes

Q.
As a retail customer, can I still buy Visual Basic 6.0?

A.
No, you cannot buy a new license of Visual Basic 6.0 at this time. Please see the Visual Basic .NET Downgrade Information page for information on how to acquire Visual Basic 6.0.

Crystal was much nicer with the versions. We needed a second license of 8.5 for a DR site. They are now up to version 11 and 8.5 is not sold anymore.

Business Objects sent us a form e-mail stating that we could purchase the new 11 and instead of installing it install 8.5.

DrJavaJoe,

But the link says

If you require Microsoft Visual Basic .NET 2002, you may obtain Visual Basic .NET 2003 and downgrade to the previous version. Downgrading to Visual Basic 6.0 is no longer possible.

What I meant was, Yes there is something stating Microsoft's position.

This prompted me to pick up the phone to call Microsoft and here is what I was told. The link above is for Retail Versions but if you want to get Visual Studio or Visual Basic 6 you need to buy a volume license which requires you to have 5 microsoft products or buy 1 MSDN Subscription. When you do this you need to just request the media.
