I need to build an interface with Meditech

Hi:
I need to build an interface with meditech, which is a hospital-based electronic documentation system. We have an MS access database used to track complication rates. I would like to be able to enter a patient's medical record number and it search for that patient in another database (Meditech). When it find the patient, it will then pull that information into the MS access database. Can anyone please help with this?

First, you need to know what DBMS the meditech system is based upon (Oracle, SQL, ?). Once you know that then the rest will fall into place.
