I need help configuring CRM...how is this done??

I use Microsoft CRM and i cannot figure out how to configure it so that it works the way I want.

Is someone able to lead me in the right direction, or has instructions for the area i am meant to go to, so that I can do this.

The best resource is the Implementation Guide that comes with CRM. This provides all the information you need to setup Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 and soon 4.0

What in particular are you having difficulty with?

I am having trouble finding where I can change certain fields..for example in an account there is a field 'state' and I would like to add South Australia to this field but cannot figure out where to do this.

You need to go to settings - customization then customize the appropriate entities form. Let me know if you need anything else.

Ok....is that in the CRM web client?

When I enter this and go to settings there is no customisation or customise section. Am I in the correct section??

By the way thanks for your help so far, I really appriciate it....because i can not figure this out.

Is an administrator security role assigned to your account Kim. Yes this is in the web client.

You should go to Settings then see customize on the left.

This will only work if you are an administrator on the system

Hi there!!

Yay i found how to get to the customisation section!! I was logging in incorrectly so it wouldn't show it to me.

I may need your expertise in the future with how to customise certain things, however i think i am right for now.

Can I ask you is there information on customising on the internet anywhere?? Or do you know any links??

As you are new to the product your best option would be to boy a CRM book by Mike Snyder from Amazon.com. this will give you more information without having to attend an instructor led course

also go to microsoft.com/crm then using microsoft crm
