I mangled an install of SBS2000, It required me to reinstall ISA, and Exchange, and SQL ...

All seemed to be functioning OK, and I proceeded to set up Clients with Outlook, and with a work around Netscape 7.1 on Linux Platforms. Connected Email Clients to IMAPS, and transfered mail from their local folders into the IMAP folders.

NOW.... when I attempt to connect with Outlook OR Netscape, I get
On the Outlook Client,
Retry, Work offline Cancel, then as Retry will not work, Work offline, I get "Cannot Start Microsoft Outlook. The information store could not be opened".

Any clues anyone please ...

OK - I have recently acquired great experience of Exchange 2000 (numerous dismounts, corruptions etc in the past two weeks) so here goes:

Check and see if the Information store service is started in services - if not try to start it.

Once the information store is started, check to see if you can now log on - if not check to see if the stores are mounted in Exchange Service Manager, if not, try to mount the stores. If the stores won't mount, let us know, if the stores will mount, try Outlook again.

Good Luck and keep us informed.

Suzanne

It would appear that the Exchange MBX folders cannot be reached. I.e. the M:/User/username folder.

About ready to drop kick it into touch here ...

Situation Update:

Have reinstalled Exchange and ISA, however the pop3 connector failed to install. Now I can't collect from the catch all, on the internet side.

Eh eeeee ...
