I have recently added a cdrw to my

I have recently added a cdrw to my comp and everything seems right but when windows finds it, it gives it the standard cdrom driver.

The software i'm trying to use wont recognize it as a cdrw either. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? Please Help.

The cdrw is a CD Writer Plus and I looked at the model number and its actually a Lite-On burner with model LTR-24102B Thanks in advance!

Yup Nero is a well worth software, you won't regret once you learn how to use it

have you tried downloading the drivers for the cdrw drive? What kind of drive is it? Is it a hewlett packard cdrw? If so I think a lot of people have had trouble getting the drivers for it but it should have came with some software that might have the drivers on it. If it doesnt go to the companys website and try and find them.

Drivers??????????????????????????????????????????
Windows uses standard ATAPI drivers for most CDrom devices wether it is a DVD player, writer or just a plain CDrom.
Then you install the writer software or whatever to make it work for the task designed.
Quite alot of writer software supplied when buying a CDRW is brand specific and will only work with the drive it was supplied with.
OEM Nero has this brand specific warning on the CD label. Martin

You never need to install any driver for cdrw, what are you talking about ? you must glued

any 8000 series and up HP are all Sony CD writers
the older one are all Philips......

like Martin said, install Nero and you are done, like dinner
