I can access my web server locally, when I go on the internet I can't see it. I can see the ip address, but the web page never showed. I have DSL, is there anything that I need to install or setup extra. I used dynu.com to map my web site to my isp's ip. I use a drive, as an example: d:\inetpub\ Thanks,

I don't know if there are differneces between dial-up and DSL, but I created my webserver on win2k, used cjb.net to redirect to dynamic ip address, open iexplorer, point at , works just fine

There was no extra configuration needed.

can you get to the webpages internally, i.e. from your lan ?

cheers.

that IP address you are talking about : is that the IP address of your DSL router ? If so, then you will need to do PAT
Also, do you have a firewall in your router ? Are you sure port 80 isn't blocked ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------
I have not failed, I've just found 10,000 ways that don't work

Ever since the Code Red Virus many DSL/Cable ISP's have been blocking port 80 (default to help prevent the virus from spreading/succeeding. A workaround is to setup your web server on a different port (like 8000 for example) and use a redirection service like dns2go.com to send all internet port 80 traffic to your pc via port 8000 (example above). This bypasses their port 80 block all together (using different port) and is transparent to the internet user. (they dont have to type to get to your webserver)

I know Verizon and Comcast@Home both block all port 80 traffic from their service to their subscribers.

sO, HOW SHOULD i publish this site steve?

Publish it using PAT on port 80, but make sure you have all patches & hotfixes applied regarding to IIS ---------------------------------------------------------------------

I would also suggest using DNS2GO.com and redirecting to another port as Negley said.

How to partition windows 2k server dual booting with win98. I need to install active directory, I need to partition the c drive. I did get the option to do it while installing, but it did not work. Is there any way that I can do it from MMC. THanks
