I have no floppy but when I boot it looks for one and gives this error...
/lib/modules/2.4.25/block/floppy.o: init_module: Device or resource busy
/lib/modules/2.4.25/misc/sb.o: init_module: Device or resource busy

How do I prevent that error?

Hi,

did you deactivate floppy in the bios features ???

rgds

floppy wasnt listed in /etc/modules.conf
I removed floppy.o from /lib/modules/2.4.25/.....
but when booting I get the error...
Checking for new hardwareinsmod: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.25/...../floppy.o No Such File or Directory.

What is hardwareinsmod? How do I get it to stop looking for floppy?

I tried
rmmod floppy and insmod -n floppy
but it says no module by that name.

Thanks in advanced.

It's not "hardwareinsmod". It just forgot a newline after "Checking new hardware"

Basically you have to locate the file that has taken over from modules.conf. That's the problem with all these modern Linux distros trying to be Windows-like.
Try 'man modules.conf' ands see if it directs you to the correct file.

Cheers
