I have inherited a Crystal v6 reports that I export to text for another user who then downloads the text file into another application. The fields were fixed length. Everything was fine until about six months ago when the file fields started exporting as if not recognizing the fixed lengths, (i.e., the data isn't aligned in columns anymore). I haven't made any changes to the report file, so it must be something else.

Can someone please help?!
Thanks

I would guess htere have been changes in the underlying data structure. Click on database, verify database and try this again. Report back if you are still having issues.

I 'verified database', and am still having the same problem.

your symptoms are kinda vague...post an expected result and actual result...maybe that will make it clearer

The fields within the text object should line up in columns on each applicable line of data, since these are fixed length fields. The fields in each line of data are not lining up in columns, which suggests that the report is no longer working for fixed length fields. Am I right, and how do I fix this?

Thanks for your help!
