I have a user that experienced a sudden crash in XP, system now will not boot into Windows, get error message IRQ_not_less_or_equal with various accompanying details. Same with attempted safe mode or last known good configuration boot. Question is, is this more likely to be a hardware problem or is it worth attempting to restore the registry via cd boot and recovery console? Good info, thanks smah, still leaves it a bit up in the air as to hardware or software, think I will try a registry replacement from the recovery console and if that doesn't work I can do a repair reinstall. Help us to help you, please post back and tell us if this helped.
