I have a user that experienced a sudden crash in XP, system now will not boot into Windows, get error message IRQ_not_less_or_equal with various accompanying details. Same with attempted safe mode or last known good configuration boot. Question is, is this more likely to be a hardware problem or is it worth attempting to restore the registry via cd boot and recovery console? Help us to help you, please post back and tell us if this helped.

Good info, thanks smah, still leaves it a bit up in the air as to hardware or software, think I will try a registry replacement from the recovery console and if that doesn't work I can do a repair reinstall. Help us to help you, please post back and tell us if this helped.
