I have a used Definity Prologix system I just bought and when I try to save to the ATA Memory card that came with it, it tells me the memory card is unusable.

The Card is a PCMIA card ATA type 2...

How do I format it on my PC so I can use it?

Will any windows program do?

Anybody have any experience doing that with a memory card on a Definity R9+?

Thanks,

Depends on your definity release..
the ATA format card is for V9 and up..
And about formatting on your PC; you can forget about that one, the cards are written with a proprietary OS header, if not properly Avaya formatted they won't work.
If you get the right card model, you can however format it on the switch itselves if you have a release older than V9, and enough assigned rights to format a card (see if you can issue a format command from the command-line), this is usually restricted.

Hope this helps,

Rob

The switch is a Version 9+...

I do have the init permission, but I have not seen the format command...it may have a different header...

I know the earlier (before V9) switches have the format command...format mem-board...but I haven't seen the same command on the 9+...

Anybody have an extra card they are willing to let go cheaply?
