I have a Toshiba 4260DVD Satellite Pro, Need DVD Decoder ????

I have 5105-s607. I immediately wiped the default XP Home OS to have both Mandrake and XP Pro when I got it. I had the same issue (I think) as you. From my understanding windows media play should play dvds, but not on my Toshiba. I had to install Power Dvd XP from samsung. I hope you didn't wipe out the hardware config from Toshiba Console like I did. Good luck!

this laptop shipped to me fdisk'd thus blank, with no restore cd. I have installed WinXP Pro and everything is awesome but when the dvd spins up and media player opens i get a dvd decoder error message... any free decoders out there that would work??? Keith Buchanan
