I have a registry error at bootup on a Win2K Pro workstation. I can only catch a glimpse of the blue screen before the computer starts a reboot, it does this over and over. I put the Win2K cd in the drive and changed CMOS to boot from cd. Tried to run the REPAIR utility and it would not run. I then tried a full install of Win2K to another directory other than winnt (i used winnt2) which does allow me to see all the users original docs, profiles, etc... so how can i get a registry re-created without having to format the c drive and start over? I tried the LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIG utility by pressing F8 at startup but no luck either. right now i have two boot options for winnt (the first one which is actually the second install on dir winnt2) that works but none of the programs or profile settings, or device drivers are correct, or the second option which is my FIRST install of win2K in the directory winnt that still will not boot properly. No software was installed yesterday and nothing downloaded. The machine worked fine at shutdown yesterday and would not boot up today???? hopefully someone has an answer for me to prevent me from having to format and start over on this one. Thank you.
