I have a number of Access 97 databa

I have a number of Access 97 database applications that have been running fine on multiple machines for quite some time. Lately, a problem has developed in that we are receiving the following error message:

"The Command line you used to start microsoft access contains an option that microsoft access does not recognize. Exit and restart access using a valid command line option."

When we click OK Access tries to open the database but then they get a message saying that the path is invalid.

Access is installed in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 97\Office, as the machine also has O2K installed (but not Access 2000)

We have uninstalled Access, directory, and registry keys, then reinstall... SAME ERROR!

We have uninstalled all the runtime files, uninstall MS Office 97, delete the diretories, delete the registry settings, then reinstall... SAME ERROR!

What is really strange is that I have tried modifying the command line options every which way. Even if I simply use:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\MSACCESS.EXE" "C:\My Documents\MyDatabase.mdb"

It doesn't have any apparent effect.

Anyone seen and resolved this or could offer any thoughts? Comments would be appreciated.

Thanks for that, but MSKB was the first port of call and unfortunately they have nothing useful to offer.
