I hate netscape.

Why do my pages work in IE5 and not in Netscape? I am not using layers. I have an image with rollovers created in Fireworks that I imported as HTML into DW. The image shows no errors in the browser check, comes up ok in both netscape and IE in the preview menu, but when published, it only comes up in IE.

Just a few thoughts ....

What doesn't come up? Looking at the source, it appears written to work locally, i.e. it seems to be looking for images etc. from your C: drive. Check your site setup in DW, ensure the root path is correct.

How do you publish the site? I assume you publish all pages/images etc in their correct places.

i agree with Grega,

all your sources for images are sourced from the developement listing as your hard disk.

change your //c to the server addres and youre good to go.

some of your sizes/positions may get shifted about in Netscape tho. [sig][/sig]

The problem is that the files appear in IE, not in Netscape.

I dont exactly know what you mean when you say to change the //c to the server directory. im going to try to figure that out now.

thanks to both of you.

FWIW .. you may find that IE is a tad more forgiving on bad HTML than Netscape!

If you need any more advice on changing the //c details, etc, let me know here and I'll post more info.

OK, I have removed all files from the server and reloaded only the index with images (that works) and the next page. I loaded it in Netscape and it loaded with some javascript appearing on the bottom frame. I fiddled around with it and was able to get it to go away, but now Netscape says that the page is loaded but with errors. No errors are visible to me, there isnt much there to have an error with anyway. I have some feeling that the problem that i have been experiencing is related to the frames. what do you think?

also, i still dont know what you mean in regards to //c

i have my files in a local folder that i ftp onto the server.

thanks again

Looks better ... the <BODY> section is a bit of a mess thought on the hfront page, but the frames appear OK. I'm using IE so am only able to look at the source .. what should appear in the bottom frame? (hfront)

Fix that first and then worry about images, etc.

the bottom frame has a large gif that has links (rollovers) to other pages. i just loaded it up and it seems to work on the evil netscape :)

i'm going to load up the other pages and see if netscape will digest it or puke it out.
