I didn't lock it! 1

While trying to remove hundreds of infected files using several different tools, I came across this error:

You have probably used the policy editor to restrict write access to the registry key

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

AVG uses this hey to launch AVGCC32.exe. Either allow full access to this key, or let AVG_CC write to it before disabling access.


How can I change the key to be able to write to it?

Thanks for the links. I had to do some creative work on the antiserver website but I managed to download the scesp41 file. I'll try it out tonight.
It seems that MS has pulled the file from their servers as none of the MS links to the file work.

The initial links are good, it's just when you try to download the x86 version that the server not found error occurs. I imagine that MS may have taken it off their site or something in my browser set up for FTP transfers is bad though I haven't had any trouble in the past.

I was able to install it once I got it downloaded and it seems to be working OK. Thanks all for the help and tips.

Before I posted I did start the download and canceled it myself. It seemed to be working OK. Probably just a glitch or one of those "Microsoft" things!
