As the subject of this threads states, I've connected to a vpn but I lose internet right after. I'm running xp, and the computer I'm connecting to is 2003 server. Can anyone help?
This is the default for VPN RAS connection. It can be changed. GO to you VPN
connection properties. Click on networking tab. Right click on tcp/ip
properties. GO to advanced and deselect "use defualt gateway fo remote
network" This will do the trick.
BY defualt, when you log on to a vpn, the vpn server will install a default
route with a higher metric on your workstation so all traffic from your
workstation goes through VPN, even internet traffic. To verify, frst log on
to VPN as usual. Do a netstat -rn and you'll see the new route. Disconnect
and change settings as I said in the begining of this post. Now look at
your defualt route. You see'll what I mean.
