I can't remove *32 SPN,can't print it and can't add *320 SPN..!!! 1

Hi all

we have problem with adding new SPN (*320)..so when I try to add it, I got Error (ESN073 that means SPN confilct or already exist)..when I try to print this SPN I can't found it on printout file within LD 90.

I can't out it also...please how to resolve this issue

Don't add SPN's starting with a "*". SPN's should only contain digits.

but if we want to dial number like (*32xxxxxxx) how to proceed..

so the system use NARS/BARS for outbound calls

any idea..?

You don't dial feature codes over an EuroISDN link. If you want to use specific features like CPP the Nortel uses the EuroISDN feature set. If your CO doesn't support the EuroISDN feature set you need to get a new CO.

You are able to add SPN's starting with a * BUT you can't print them. Don't know way you can add, but not print. Maybe it's a bug in the system (Tried it on different versions). But then again it's not really a bug since you shouldn't add SPN's starting with a *.

You are able to remove them, but again, since you can't print them you don't now which are added and which not.

The fact that your CO doesn't support the EuroISDN feature set is a bit odd. I didn't have any problems adding and removing *32+xxxx SPN in our lab; we're on the latest release. I wouldn't be surprised if it has some bug in it that makes it odd to print / out / change ...

Can you provide printouts of what happens when you try to remove it; also if you print ALL your SPN, can you provide a printout of that so we can see if it's listed?

Conflict with another (NPA, NXX, etc.).
Enter new SPN number.
Severity: Info

NPA, NXX, etc., specified, already exists.

I see it looks like you were able to successfully remove *32, as if it was programmed? But I didn't see it. The problem is that "*" is usually reserved for the "oops" key - oops, I didn't want to type that ... in some versions I wouldn't be surprised if the software handles it differently.

On our 7.5 system, I was successfully able to add, print, and remove *67 (the NA code for CPP, on analog trunks):

Are you positive it doesn't exist as an NPA, NXX, LOC, etc? What release of software are you on?

Just an idea but why not try this from another angle, create a new SPN of 122 for example using RLI 122,then in LD 86 create RLI 122, using your outgoing route and a DMI of 122, create DMI 122, DEL 3 INS *320 , maybe not ideal solution but end result is you prefix dialed numbers with *320 , You could then tell endusers the code to restrict CLID is 122, and everyone is happy.

I'd say MossEng has a valid workaround ... although I am curious why you cannot add *32 or *320 as an SPN. I'd suspect a software bug; are you fully patched? There's a ton of numbering patches in R7.0 so far.

yes the system is fully patched with latest deplist for Rls7.0 software....I will try the solution that MossEng was posted.

Hi all

I have configure the SPN entry as MossEng posted, but I get only (32 + number) I can't see the star (*)..I have try also with ACOD of RDB then I got the same result...(32 + number)i can't see the star..may be the system can't send * out on ISDN ...!!!

any idea

I don't think * will work. * is the default delay/pause character. If you dial 123*4567890 the system will insert a pause after 123. But then again... That's for analogue trunks. You can't pause a dial using EuroISDN.

Regarding the DMI, the NTP's state that you can enter the digits that need to be inserted. I'm not sure if * and # are considered to be digits (Because I need to translate I could be wrong).

And I'm still convinced that you can't send * and # when using EuroISDN. I'm really sure that you can't send # since it's the end-of-dial character. If you press # the system tells the CO that you have finished dialing and finishes the setup message..

So when you do this; you get fast-busy when you dial the SPN you chose? What about the call type; did you modify the CTYP on the DMI to be what your provider is expecting? Here's what I built; I can't test actually dialing it, but ... seriously the issue seems to be that your provide doesn't understand the EuroISDN feature set. Sure, using a PRI analyzer, they can insert digits, but that's not the way ISDN software is supposed to work. There's a reason that all these feature sets were built.

Although your CO doesn't except the call you should be able to see the setup message when you do a DCH trace. In the trace you should be able to see the dialed number.

Hey Marc, I'm just on a lab switch without any real trunking; mostly for software issues. No way for me to even see if it's outpulsing. The point is if his carrier doesn't understand the E-ISDN feature set, then that's the problem. We're all just chasing our tails trying to work around his CO. I honestly don't have any more advice to offer hehe.
