I am trying to program speed dial buttons on 1416 sets. I want to give users the ability to program the speed dial number on their own. Can someone please guide me. I did read about Abbreviated Dial in user manual but still don't understand how to program it.

Enter login code and chose button and function (abbreviated dial) and value (phone number) you want to use.

I'm not sure if they need a login code. In R9 and later you can remove that option from the funct menu with manager (telephony\TUI)

If a user has a login code set (User>Telephony>Supervisor settings - login code) then that is the code to enter, if nothing is set then self admin doesn't ask for a login code. In R9.1 you can allow web self admin then the users can program buttons using a web portal (IP Office IP Address>Web self admin).
