Hi All,

I have tried to find the answer to a simple question but to no avail and I am sure it is easy ....

How do I browse to locate my sql instance? When the user first uses the app they need to locate (in this case) SQLEXPRESS, but what to do?

If this is dead simple and I should have known this then sorry I nust be having a 'senior moment'.

TIA

Your question is quite confusing.

You can use the tools in System.data.sql.. to find sql instances create a windows from there with a drop down and let the user select his server (if this is what you are asking)

This for exemple : System.Data.Sql.SqlDataSourceEnumerator()

will enumerate every instances of sql on your network
