I am having trouble with ipconfig command

I am using windows XP Pro and is having problem with ipconfig command. when I enter ipconfig command in the command prompt it gives me an error saying " ipconfig is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file". If anybody knows the reason for this problem..Please help me out..Thanx..

Change to the System32 directory manually or:

Set or add to the Environment Variable (Right-click My Computer>>Properties>>Advanced) "PATH" your System32 directory

I.E. C:\WINNT\System32

You might want to review your Environmental Variable settings. \system32 should be included in your path. Right-click My Computer, Properties, Advanced, Environmental Settings. Look at the Path setting with the edit option. The first entry should be: %SystemRoot%\system32;
If it is not, put it there.
