IP Office 9.0.7
We have 2 locations each location has 40ish phones and each location has its own IP office Config

I am having trouble logging into a phone at Location 2 with with my extension from Location 1
I get an error that says "License Not Available"

Everything works fine if I'm logging into a phone at Location 1 with an extension from Location 2

Is this a licensing issue ...if so what license do I need and at what location do I add the license
Or is there a setting I need to change to allow this to work both ways

Also.... and the main reason the first question came up....
Location 1 needs help with handling Customer calls for about 3 weeks... We would like users at Location 2 to assist by logging into the Customer Support HG located at Location 1...
Can this be done?
Can I somehow link the Customer Support HG from Location 1 to a user extension at Location 2?

Thanks in advance... All help is much appreciated

what type of phone are you trying to log in at location 2? If it's an ip phone then make sure this site has ip endpoint licenses

All 9611G Avaya IP phones at both locations

I only see one difference in licensing between Location 1 and 2
Location 2 Has 3rd party endpoint licenses
Location 1 does not

So just to clarify I am having trouble logging into any phone at Location 2 with with any extension from Location 1

You do not log off and on, you unregister a IP Phone and try to register that IP Phone at another location, then you need a free IP endpoint license and your extension number needs to be setup on both locations. It is the CM methode for a user to logon and logoff, not the IP Office methode.
I always disable that feature in the 46xxsettings.txt file.
It is the "Logoff" feature in the menu under the "A" button you use.
In IP Office you must use the featurecode *35*extendion*logon code# to logon to another phone.
Logoff with code *36
The user must have a login code set otherwise the fature does not work at all.

Thanks for the info

I have all these things set... Added a test user to both locations and I am still getting the same error "License Not Available" when I unregister the IP Phone user at location 1 and try to register that IP Phone user at location 2

Thanks again for your help

A 3rd party ip endpoint license is for non Avaya IP phones, so if the phone at b location is an Avaya phone then you need an ip end point license at site b

With only 26 users at Site B... Looking at my licenses available... I should have plenty... Yes? Or am I missing something?

Manager only shows the total amount of licenses, in SSA you can se this too but it also show the number of used and unused licenses.
Still, within a SCN a user can logon to any phone on any system, no need for a separate phone for that user.
I think you miss some basic knowledge of IP Office.
