Hi just me again. - - I guess I'm having a bad day!!!
I accidently started to install an old scanner driver instead of my up to date one. I realised immediately after hitting set up that I didnt want this so I quit the prog.
Now everytime I boot the computer up I get a small window and in the blue part of window are the words, "HP Precision scan LT set up" and in the space below are the words, "No digital signature" then underneath is the OK sign. - - Clicking on OK removes the window but only til I reboot. - - annoying and would like it not to show - Any suggestions please.

See if you can erase it from Msconfig (startup) or any of these locations:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Runonce
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
%systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
%systemdrive%\Documents and Settings\username\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Using Disk Cleanup to delete all your Temp files might fix it.

You could also try using System Restore to go back before your mistake.

Install the older driver set completely. Then update it. You other choice is to use Device Manager, highlight the scanner device, right-click and uninstall.

Check too to see if there is an entry in Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. If so, remove the scanner software from that entry.

Hi all,

Just to let you know that I went through a lot of things and finally solved it. I did a run > msconfig and it was in my start ups. I found the yellow folder and tried to delete the contents. I deleted them all except for two files. It told me “Cannot delete, being used”. Soooooooo, went back into start up via msconfig and unticked it. Then went back to the yellow folder and it allowed me to delete the remaining two files.

Rebooted, and now it doesn’t show. - - - Oh well, learning all the time!!!!
