The customer has an 8x24 with DR 5.0 and a Startalk voicemail system. They want to activate the CCR with one of the branches calling an internal number and if busy or not answered the call goes to another number and onto a third if the call is not answered. If the 3rd number is not answered then the call should go to voicemail. I built 3 answer DN's (325, 326 and 327 (no physical ports)) onto an M7310 phone and set them to forward busy and RNA to the next DN (325 to 326 to 327 to VM). When any of he 3 DN's are called from an internal phone they ring for about 3 times and then the call goes to the General Delivery MB. I read some previous posts about the possible need for physical phones to be installed rather than phantom numbers. Any thoughts on how to make this work without upgrading to an MICS?

What are you trying to accomplish, ringing in a hunt group where nobody will answer? and if the one answer dn is busy why go to the next dn.

If one of the DN's is busy then the call needs to go to another person in the group. There will be 3 people available to take calls so up to 3 simultanious calls can be handled if this forwarding can be made to work. This need would be covered by a hunt group if the customer had a new phone system but the 8x24 did not offer that feature.

what about if the call forward no answer is set to the next extension and so on? Also, if you can't make it work what about Answer DN, they would all ring but at least they know they have to answer the call. If they don't want, they have them fork out some money for a new system.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I worked with the customer and set up one Answer DN on all 3 phones. Any of the 3 phones can pick up the call. They can only receive one call at a time unless they transfer the call from the Answer DN line but it works for them. If the call is not answered it goes to the General Delivery mail box. I was never able to get that version of software to forward a phantom Answer DN to another phantom Answer DN.
