I have music on hold setup. It is working, but I want a situation where when some call the hunt group that I have created, and the call is but ob queue, the music on hold should start playing until the call is answered.

How it work now is:
When some call the hunt group number, the forced first annoucement is played. After that, the phone will keep ringing until the call is picked up, some times it is not picked up after a particular number of rings, it disconnects.

Are mine suppose to set up a coverage path? If yes, how do I point the coverage path to the music on hold port?

Thanks.

I want to add that, I am not using vectoring in my hunt group. I will prefer a solution that will exclude vectoring.

Note:
My Music on hold is working fine. When calls are placed on hold, the music comes on.

Thanks.

A tricky way around this could be to set up the on hold music on a second source and set this up in the announcements as an analog-m source.

That way in your coverage path you could have the extension that you created in the announcements and have it play the music.

The problem with that is that it would stop hunting once it hit the music ext...Im still thinking...dont pay attention to the smell of burning wood

In the future everything will work...

Set your hunt group up with a queue. Then when the hunt members are busy they go into the queue and here your music on hold.

The queue would be good to use, but the station in question isn't busy...just lets the phone ring.

In the future everything will work...

The hunt group is queue. I checked the COR the hunt group belong to and it is set to allow music on hold to play.

I called Avaya, I was told, it might not be possible for people on queue to hear music on hold, that the phone will be ringing until it is picked up or disconnected. The lady from Avaya was saying something like me setting up vectoring, but it seems my Definity do not support vector (I checked, there are no commands like 'Add Vector' 'Change Vector' 'List Vector' or 'Display Vector'). Still Avaya want me to pay them $340.00 as a consultancy fees just for them to see if my software/hardware will support this implementation. If it will support it, I have to pay another money to have them fix it and if it will not support it, my $340.00 is gone.

I have come up with a cruel solution, but I am still seeking better professional solutions from you guys.

My proposed solution is this:
*Set up a Second Announcement eg ext 1234.
*Call that ext. instead of recording an announcement, I will play a music into it.
*In my hunt group, I will put ext 1234 as the second announcement, set it to the maximum allowed seconds and loop it.

With this when someone call the hunt group ext., the first announcement will play (Forced announcement)eg (Thank you for Calling.....), then 1 second after it finish playing the second annoucement will pickup abd start palying, it will continue to loop until the call is picked by an agent or the customer got tired fo hearing the same music over and over again and hangs up -Not a good PR right?

I am in need of a better solution.

Your response will be appreciated.

I big Thanks to everyone that have contributed so far, however I am expecting your further contributions.

Do a "disp sys cust" On page 5 is Call Center...Look to see if you have Vectoring enabled. If can copy and paste the info. We can tell you what you need and what you dont. What release you have?

In the future everything will work...

Thank You all for your contribution. I justed called Avaya and problem fixed!

Old Page 2 (Ch hunt 1) config:
1st Announcement Ext: 76xx 2nd Announcement Delay(Sec): 0
1st Announcement Ext: 76xx 2nd Announcement Delay(Sec): 20

New Page 2 (Ch hunt 1) config:
1st Announcement Ext: 76xx 2nd Announcement Delay(Sec): 2
1st Announcement Ext: 76xx 2nd Announcement Delay(Sec): 20

They said, since I forced the 1st announcement, the call did not go into the memory (and as such no music), so I should allow the call some seconds to go into the memory before the 1st announcement.

Come to think of it that, I have been battling this thing for more than 2 weeks now, and have changed every config that I know of, except that little number '0'

Thanks Once again.
