We upgraded our main Exchange box to 2000 over the weekend and inevitably, ran into some problems. Actually, our one problem was rather severe. We ended up on the phone with MS for 6 hours fixing, rather, rebuilding AD due to replication woes. Apparently, we have a clog in the artery and replication was struggling.
We thought everything was ok, until this afternoon. Earlier today, although some pub folders were not visible to the clients (problem #1), we were able to access almost all public folders, now the contents of ALL of the pub folders is GONE.....(problem #2- of course).
Does ANYONE have ANY idea what is going on???
Some bits about our environment:
** 3 Exchange 5.5 servers - 1 with the ADC
** all on a Windows 2000 platform with varying SPs on
them (2 and 3)
** Exhange 2K has SP3, while the 5.5 boxes have SP4 for 5.5
** We followed the recommended procedure for rehoming
public folders, as I said earlier, we were fine.

Any help would be appreciated.....[peace]

when we migrated, all permissions went. under exchange sys manager, look for the public folders and check the permissions.

Thanks for the quick response!!
Permissions are now ok....I think we still have some sort of AD replication issue. All the data that was in the folders is gone. Good GRAVY!! MS may have to get another phone call. I believe our problems to be beyond Exchange and within AD. Would you like me to keep you posted?
