HTTP 400 - Bad Request when launching Windows Updates
Has anyone seen this before and how do I resolve?

Thanks!!

gpalmer: I checked the host file and there are no entries for Microsoft. Your URL does the same thing.

This is a laptop that has been on the domain but not currently on the domain.

I can get to Security and Updates but if I click on one of the options it fails.

flynbrian,
Does it still fail with the HTTP 400 error?

If your system time is off, then Windows Update will let you on but will fail when you try to do a scan. Usually it will give you an error message other than the HTTP 400 error.

So check your clock next...

Issue resolved. I ran XoftSpy on the laptop and removed all spyware. That fixed it. THanks for all of your help!
