Hi,

Crystal 8.5 now allows you to process html data that is stored on a database (to varying degrees of success).

The problem we are having is text size. If you choose to process a text filed as html it starts to ignore the font and sizes you have specified, which does make some sense if it is specified in the html.

However even if we specify in HTML font size=1 which is the smallest we don't get it nearly small enough for the report.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get very small text out of crystal when processing HTML?

Cheers
Marc

Hello

What you can try is to place this field in a text object. Crystal looks at text objects differently that database fields.

Let me know if I have mis understood your question. E. McEvoy

uczmeg: I would endorse emcevoy's suggestion. Embed your fields inside text objects - these can then be formated in any font style and size you wish - I regularly use 3 point to make things virtually invisible ;-) David C. Monks

Nice idea guys, however it doesn't work.

All bets appear to be off once you switch the formatting to HTML or RTF even if you put it in a text object.

You can replicate this by switiching any fields paragraph formatting to HTML regardless of the field containing HTML.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

I am having a similar problem. In Crystal 8.5, I am inserting a memo field, however, when the page breaks, part of the memo field repeats on the next page. When I change the field to rtf format, the repeating stops, however, I can't format the rtf field to a smaller font. Even placing it in a Text field still leaves it at a large format (at least 10 pt). Anyone have any ideas how I can either 1)stop the line repeating problem (acts like a bug) or 2)format the rtf for a smaller font?
