Until the entire world wises up and buys the exact same computer and monitor, you're going to have to worry about resolution. Sure, your design looks sharp at a resolution of 800 by 600 pixels, but what about those visitors who have 640 by 480? You don't want them to miss that ad tucked away on the right side of the screen, right?
