I ran a html validator check on my site and got some error messages, problem is I've no idea how to repair them. Could anyone guide me along? I ran the test using

Hi and welcome to Tek-Tips. For future reference you may do better with your HTML questions in forum215.
The validator you have used is fairly explicit in its recommendations and guidance. If you don't understand the message supplied against each error check for the individual elements mentioned. If you don't find the answer there, come back with a specific. For instance the first problem is caused by your </head> tag being in the wrong place - it should be immediately before you <body> tag.
The general look of the site (HTML 4 transitional, table layout) suggests that this is rather an old layout. It may be worth looking at some more modern design ideas based on divs rather than tables. There are several layout guides around including and
