I have looked everywhere for drivers for a hp desk jet 697c and came up empty handed. I checked the hp site and they only have drivers for the me/xp editions of 2000. If anyone can help me find these drivers I would greatly appreciate it. Thanx!

What OS do you need these drivers for?

I need them for windows 2000 professional. But I think my question has been answered allready. I was told that the drivers are allready in the os. I just need to find them. Windws y2k professional is very tempermental and its not picking them up for some reason. I just need to dig a little deeper in the system to get the computer to recognize them. Also every time the computer boots up the add new hardware window pops up for the printer. I had this problem when I installedd my eithernet card and I resoved it finally with my broadband hook up. Thats when I found out that its very tempermental. Thanx , if you have any other answer for me please leave a posting.

I tried them and a window popped up saying these drivers were not designed for this operating system you may download them but can not use them.

Have you attempted to add a printer through the Add Printer Wizard? Then when it asks what the printer is, select any HP 69x series (690, etc). When it asks for the W2K CD, insert the CD and let it find the drivers on it.

Ok, I did that and the drivers got installed and now the error message comes up saying that the printer is not hooked up the lpt1 and it is. The printer works on my wifes computer and I also hooked it up through my scanner and the csanner works but the printer doesnt so I direct connected it and it still doesnt work . What a mess!

I finally found out what the problem was. I had to make sure both printer cartrages are in and connected at the same time. I had one of them out and didnt bother to check it because the error message kept coming up printer not connected to LPT port 1. If anyone else has this problem "check your printer cartrages" . It may help . Thanks for your help webmaster999.
