My Hp Pc stays in safe mode. I have not added any new software other than a new printer and it worked fine, but now it won't get out of safe mode.

What is the Operating system installed on ur computer? If it's 98 issue is simple first how do you shut down ur computer shut down ur computer by Start-Shutdown-Shutdown the computer-Ok, if system is freezing at this point i.e. before it's now safe to turn of the computer then there are some more steps needed to be done for that let me know what is ur Operating System.
