Does anyone know anything about a problem with the driver for HP LaserJet 4200? I installed the driver for this printer on a machine with Windows 2000 and it affected the way the machine shut down. Prior to the installation of the print driver, the machine would shut down completely by itself. Now, the machine goes through a different procedure where it comes to the screen that says "It is now safe to turn off computer" and you must actually push the power button to turn off the machine. Does anybody know why this happens or how to fix it? Thanks for the help.

If you remove the driver does it go back to normal? If so, try using the HP LaserJet 4 driver. This is a good driver that works with most Laserjets...

Thanks,

Check under Power Options in the control panel and see if ASPI is checked to be enabled. If you can't find the ASPI option, don't worry about it, not all PC's running Windows 2000 will show it (of course your problem won't be fixed either). Hope this helps.
