i recently purchased 2 Centon 256mb PC133 memory. i removed the original 128mb PC100 from the computer and added the 2 Centon 256mb PC133 memory. When i booted my computer nothing happened(I had a blank screen) I switched it back to the 128mb PC100 and it booted correctly. Does that mean that the PC133 is not compatible with my motherboard or did i have to run a specific setup? Should I just purchase 256mb PC100 instead? thanks.

Any beep noise?

HP can be real fussy with RAM. That machine will use 256mb(max) sticks so either the RAM wasn't seated properly or what you bought isn't compatible.
Try I've never had a problem with their RAM
