HP 5L printer - driver problem

When installing the driver for HP5L on a DESKPRO/EN SERIES 6350 an error occurs.
The communication with the printer fails.
We replaced the printercable to the parallel port.
Problem remains.
When installing the driver for HP5P the communication seems to be OK.
Mainly the prints are OK.
With some graphical objects the print result is not OK.
Of course the correct driver for HP5L should be installed.

Why this problem with HP5L driver on this DESKPRO and how to solve ???

I remember an old problem that Win95 had with 5L's that was similar to this. Required a new LPT driver to be downloaded and installed. Just a thought, as you did not mention what OS was involved.
