How2 remove borders from navbar cells

Built a navbar of text against transparent background.
Used Rectangle Tool, Edit / Clone to define buttons.
Navbar exectutes fine, but each slice has a border around it.
Somehow, each cell of the generated table has a non-zero border.
How can I get rid of borders? Or recreate navbar with no borders?

set each cell to zero unless thats what you actually meant

Thanks... but that is exactly my question: how to set the cell borders to zero. What screen dialog?
In fact, my wild guess that "zero border" was the problem may not even be true. At my low level of expertise, this was merely a suspicion.

select a table on your page and look at the properties panel, make sure that the border has a zero in it
