Hi,
I am installing a network consisting of two subnets:
10.88.0.0/22 (A) and 192.168.1.1/24 (B)
The subnets are interconnected via Cisco DSL routers via an IPVPN network provided by our telecom company.
Subnet A contains two DHCP servers + clients, subnet B only contains 7 thin clients and a network printer.
What I want to achieve is the following:
- the clients from subnet B should get their IP adress from the DHCP servers in subnet A. I know I have to configure the router on subnet B as a DHCP relay agent so the UDP requests are forwarded to subnet A.
- the DHCP servers on subnet A should be redundant by use of the 80/20 split rule. (both for the 10.88.0.0/22 and the 192.168.0.0/24 scope!)
I have read several documents on Microsoft's website regarding DHCP but I am not sure that I am doing things according to the 'best practice' method.
Could you please share with me how you would set up the scopes on both DHCP servers? Would you use superscopes? etc. etc,
Any info appreciated!
Thanks,
Jeffrey
