While cleaning up a machine for client who bought a used machine 6 months ago, I deleted the old user only to find that my client had been saving all her baby's pictures for the past 6 months logged as the old user. She's hysterical. Is there any wild solution out there?

Removing a user is a two step process, did you complete both steps including deleting the folder when it was offered, or did you just remove the user and allow XP to save the old folder?

You can try using System Restore to go back before your deletion and see if that resurrects any old user folder.

Clutching at straws here but you can do a search of System Information folder and see if anything remains in there. You will have to show hidden and system files and have Administrator access.

Data Recovery links to try.

For these to work don't write any data to the computer until you have tried them as you will be overwriting any recoverable files.
